Happy everyone! Did you all enjoy your July because I can not believe August is approaching this quickly. Time has been flying by and I realized Cory and I have been so busy these last couple months, it was time for an update of what has been going on!
First, I have recently found the cutest coffee shop in Montgomery, Ohio. It is called Clarity House and the owners are the sweetest and most caring people I have met. If you have time, I highly recommend getting on their website and reading some of their blog post about their company and of course popping in to grab a coffee and some of their homemade cookies!
Now on to the really exciting stuff!
In June, Cory was in one of his good friends wedding down in North Carolina. And you guessed it, in today’s blog post I have some pictures, details, and even some wedding intel from the bride herself!
Over the past few years, we’ve had the privilege of meeting and becoming close friends with Tyler and Alex. Cory and Tyler met in college and have been close ever since. Through their friendship, I was introduced to Tyler’s now wife, Alex 😃 Once Cory and I got back from our honeymoon, the excitement and anticipation was building up for their wedding! They were next and we couldn’t believe it was finally here!
Alex was absolutely a gorgeous bride! She KILLED it in her dress!! 🔥
They had lots of fun ideas when it came to their big day. It was a June wedding on the beach so they incorporated beach inspired décor like seashells, sand, and beautiful corals, blues, and whites. As an outsider looking in to their vision, it was very clear the beach is their happy place, and makes it a million times sweeter that that’s where they said their vows!
Cory and I actually went down to North Carolina for a long weekend, so we got to explore the Wilmington area a little! I’m not sure how he feels, but Wilmington beach has become one of my favorite areas to visit. The area is less congested than other beaches and over all feels more natural if that makes sense. We both agreed one day we would love to one day get a beach condo or something in the future down there! 🌴🌾☀️
The first day we got there around 5pm so we only had time to explore the city a little bit and grab some dinner before we were both exhausted from the 10 hour car ride.
While we were down in North Carolina, a bunch of people from the wedding party got together and went kayaking to a private beach for an afternoon. This little excursion is what made Cory and I fall in love with the area!
Now onto their big day!
Side note, who is this cutie 😍
Aside from their wedding being one of the most beautiful beach weddings I have ever attended, you could feel the love radiating all around you! It was amazing getting to experience their wedding with their closest friends and family! Tyler and Alex are a true example that real love does exist, it’s incredible, and will absolutely change your life for the better. These two are pretty crazy about each other if you already couldn’t tell from their pictures! It was an absolute honor getting to watch them say their “I do’s” 💙
I’ll let Alex take it from here to answer some questions about her wedding! 💍
What theme did you have for your wedding day?
Alex: Our wedding was on the beach so we went for the tropical theme but tried not to be over the top. Our colors were petal pink, gold, and navy.
What was your favorite moment from your wedding day?
Alex: Our favorite moment was sitting at our sweetheart table and having time, just the two of us, to talk.
How did you chose your final hairstyle?
Alex: I had no idea what to do with my hair, so I scheduled a trial a few days before and she tried two different styles. I just really loved how she did it and decided then. I wasn’t very picky about hair or makeup so I feel like that helped. I knew I wanted it to be at least half up so it was out of my face, but still mostly down.
What was the most magical part of the day?
Alex: I really loved the last dance when we had everyone surrounding us and dancing with us in a big circle. It sounds cheesy, but I could look around and see everyone’s face and how much fun people were having. That’s definitely a mental snapshot I’ll always keep!
What 3 tips would you give to brides planning their weddings?
Alex: Tip 1 – do your best not to stress the small things. No one will notice if your table runners are wrinkled lol. Also, hire a planner to worry about these things for you!!! If you have the budget for it, it’s worth it!!!
Tip 2 – take it all in the day of the wedding! Take mental snapshots and hold on to those. You will be nervous and have a million things on your mind, but be present and have fun!
Tip 3 – don’t forget that you are getting married to be with each other forever. I feel like there is so much pressure to be perfect or to have the perfect day. None of that is important, just focus on you and your partner, and those closest to you that want to help you celebrate!
Praying for an amazing first year of marriage for these two lovebirds! 🤍
