Happy Thursday guys! Today’s blog post is a super exciting one! It’s all about our honeymoon and a resort review from where we stayed. This was my first time traveling to Mexico, and now that we are back I am already itching to go return! If you are looking for a good place to travel for a honeymoon, friends trip, or even an anniversary trip this resort was amazing! If you have any questions, feel free to leave them in the comments or email me at email@example.com and I’ll answer all of them 😁
Even though Cancun is far away from Cincinnati, the flight is very short! Including the time difference, the entire flight was 3 hours. When you are in airports and on the plane you still have a wear a mask, but since we have worn them for a while now, it wasn’t even a big deal. Thankfully, Cancun has their own airport, so there was no more traveling once we landed. Even though the flight was only 3 hours, it was still an extremely long and exhausting day. The TRS Coral had employees waiting for us at the airport to take us to the resort, making that whole transition super seamless. The resort is maybe a 40 minute drive from the airport, but thankfully you can just sit back and sight see!
The TRS Coral is a newer resort but it is INCREDIBLE! It’s an adult only resort that is connected to it’s “big sister” hotel called the Grand Palladium. Did I mention…all inclusive!!
Our suite was a junior swim up suite and it was an AMAZING option if you are traveling on your honeymoon or doing a trip with your loved one! The room is super romantic and very comfortable. Every room in the resort is assigned a butler and you can text them at any time during the day for anything. Our butlers were Enif and Alicia and they were absolutely amazing and every detail was perfect. Our room came with a king sized bed, walk in shower, toilet room, freestanding tub, living room, deck, and swim up pool!
The room was beautifully decorated, everything is brand new and very sleek. There were many architectural details throughout and made the room feel extremely luxurious.
The resort has 5 restaurants walking distance from your room, and they are all different cuisines!
Mediterranean food (we didn’t get to eat here while we were there)
El Gaucho –
Argentinean food – GUYS this restaurant had the best steak I have ever eaten in my entire life! While we were eating I was comparing the steak to Jeff Ruby’s and I got to say, I think El Gaucho won.
Italian food – All I can say is this place served YUMMMMYYY food!
La Boheme –
French food – First things first, as an interior designer walking into this restaurant I could not stop looking around at the design and décor! The floor, wallpaper, and dinnerware was BEAUTIFUL! If I could have I would have wrapped the restaurant up and brought it all home!
Breakfast and dinner – We never went to this restaurant for dinner, we only went for breakfast, but OMG the breakfast food was delicious!
THINGS TO DO
If you are looking to check out for a day or two, this is the place to do so! Sleep in, order 24 hour room service, hang out by the pool, or head to the beach! I can’t answer for Cory, but my favorite relaxing spot was out by the pool! There were lots of pool beds, music, and never ending drinks! The waiters out by the pool were the absolute best and always took the best care of you!
This was one of the excursions we did while we were in Cancun and it was rich in history and something you will never find anywhere else! It’s an old Mayan city full of ancient ruins from 600 A.D. Chichén Itzá is a step pyramid that is one of seven wonders of the world. Our tour guide told us a bunch of information about the Mayans that was so impressive, like their knowledge of astronomy. If you ever get the chance to see the Mayan ruins, I highly recommend it!
This excursion was an all day thing, we left at 7 am and did not get back to the resort until 8pm, but the entire day was so much fun. After we saw the Mayan ruins we went to a local restaurant and had an authentic Mayan lunch. The food was absolutely delicious and the workers set up a special table for Cory and I since we were on our honeymoon! How sweet is that!
There was a local market that was connected to the restaurant and we got to go shopping before the next location. Cory and I bought a beautiful handmade pitcher and a set of coffee mugs!
The last stop of the excursion was a natural spring where we could go swimming! The locals say the water from the spring is supposed to make you younger 😉
Swimming With Dolphins-
Swimming with dolphins was such a fun excursion! After getting to interact with them, all I can say is dolphins are such gentle creatures and so sweet. 💙
The last thing Cory and I planned was a couples massage – and obviously I didn’t have my phone during it so I don’t have any pictures to share. But, we both had a 50 minute massage and did a water therapy session before to help open our pores and ready ourselves. Their masseuses did a wonderful job and honestly I fell asleep for a couple minutes during the massage 😂
- You do need reservations for dinner at the restaurants, but your butler will take care of making all of them for you! All you need to do is show up!
- We were recommended to bring $75 for tips from our travel agent. Since it’s an all inclusive resort, you don’t pay for dinners or drinks, but it is nice to tip the workers when they are taking such good care of you! Typically we would tip people a dollar or two (that is what was recommended) after anyone would help us.
- You do still need a negative COVID test to return to the US, but luckily the TRS has a doctors office right in the resort! This is another thing your butler will take care of – scheduling your COVID test and delivering your results to your room.
- One random tip is to absolutely go to El Gaucho and try the steak – seriously so good!
If you have any other questions, ask me in the comment section or email me and I’ll get back to you! 💕
