Happy Sunday everyone! I’m so excited to finally share our completed railing renovation today! When we first moved into our house, the railing was unfinished pieces of wood πŸ™ƒπŸ˜¬. I’m not kidding, the owner before us used 2×4’s and made a railing. As an almost interior design graduate, the first thing I noticed was the railing was not up to code, and plus it was the biggest eye sore when you first walked into the house.

You can see the before railing below:

Cory and I decided to paint the railing white to try to cover up all of its flaws. Unfortunately it was still ugly! Here are some before pics after we painted it white.

As you can see, the railing was very poorly built and looked horrible! It was for sure time we got rid of it. First step was DEMO!! This was the fun part – we used hammers and went to town on the old railing! It felt so good to finally say goodbye ☺️

The next step was to pick out new balusters, newel post, and a railing! Once we started constructing everything, Cory NAILED every single detail! When you walk into our house, the railing is the first thing you see and he was able to BRING IT TO LIFE!! Here are some pictures of the railing coming together:

If you are thinking about redoing your railing, I HIGHLY recommend it! Seriously, look at the difference an updated railing make!

What do you guys think? Do you love the renovation as much as I do? 😍
