Hello everyone! I thought it was time for a little update on our wedding planning ☺️ We sent out our save the dates a week or two ago, so now it’s time to start working on the invitations! You can read about our save the dates here . The wedding is officially 6 months away, I seriously can’t believe how fast time is going! Before I know it, I’ll be writing a new post about the wedding 💕

I had to include this proposal picture because look at my horrifying cry face! 😂💍

Now to get into the good stuff! I’ll start off with our first big decision which was picking out a venue. This is such an important step because you need to decide on a venue before you can pick a wedding date. When we were touring venues, a lot of them were already booked on Saturdays or the entire year of 2021! I’m not going to lie, this was a very stressful time! I was so worried we were going to have a long engagement, which neither Cory or I wanted, but it all worked out! In the end, we based all the venues off our budget and took tours of all the ones we wanted to see. I’ll share the ones we didn’t pick, but keep our venue a secret – I can’t wait for you guys to see it!

Once we had our venue and date set, the next step was to start booking all of our vendors. Back in the summer, we booked the photographer, DJ, cake, and florist (basically all the vendors we needed!) Thankfully, the venue we went with is owned by a catering company, so we didn’t have to look around for caterers – which honestly food is so important for a wedding, so that was a huge relief!

When Cory and I first met with our wedding planner, they had us make a mini Pinterest board to show the design and style of what we were looking for. I had so many inspiration pictures that I have been saving on my phone and Pinterest board – I’ll be sharing some of the pictures today!

Here’s a little sneak of info about our venue : the ceremony will be outdoors and reception is inside a large white tent. I want the wedding to have an elegant garden party feel, while still being classy.

Here are some of my inspiration photos!

I’m loving how amazing these fairy lights look in the tent! I’m thinking this is a must-have!

For flower arrangements I wish we could afford big, lavish arrangements, but they are wayyyy out of our budget. We plan on doing small arrangements with lots of greenery fillers and white/blush flowers.

How beautiful are candles at a wedding? I love how romantic they are. Plus, the soft ambient light is going to be amazing once it gets dark.

I just love little details like these! So light and airy, but still very elegant 😊

And finally, this picture is so DREAMY!!! If this doesn’t scream elegant garden wedding, I don’t know what else will 😂

There are still some major decisions left, like the bridesmaid dresses and honeymoon. Overall I’m feeling pretty good about where we are in the planning process. I felt super overwhelmed at the beginning because there were so many things to be done and you want your wedding to be “perfect” – I actually got a lot of advice through this and I wrote a post about it here. It’s easy to get lost in small wedding details that no one will notice, so in the end those small details don’t really matter! Honestly, I thought I was going to be a bigger bridezilla but, I’m super glad I haven’t been because who wants to be around someone like that 🙃 I know it will be the happiest day 🤍
